Product Reviews- Butter Shampoo Bar and Afroveda

Good Morning ladies-

This was my first time washing my hair since straightening my hair, and again I am happy to report no heat damage. Remember the sample items I purchased? So I used the Butter Shampoo bar from chagrinvalleysoapandcraft.com. The ingredients include: saponified oils of unrefined Shea butter, safflower, babassu; coconut, mango butter, & Castor bean; organic coconut milk; filtered rain water; and rosemary oil extract. The scent is light, and slightly earthy. What I liked about the shampoo bar is it only take like two swipes on the section of hair and you get a good lather. It cleaned my scalp easily and very nicely, but also left it feeling soft and moisturized. I was very pleased! Since I washed my hair at the sink using a sort of tension method my hair were free of tangles, and ready for styling.
Pro's: Cleans well, lathers well, smells nice and not over powering.
Con's: I didn't purchase the full size!!!
Repurchase?: Oh yes
The one to the far right.

So following that I decided to use the Shea-Amla whipped butter cream (the ingredients include: Aloe Vera Leaf Juice, Rice Milk, Purified Water, Shea Butter, Sesame Oil, Ayurvedic Botanicals of Ashwagandha Herb, Amla Powder, Bhringaraj Powder, Brahmi Powder, Neem Leaf Extract; Nettle, Castor Oil, Almond Oil, Mustard Seed Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil (organic), Coconut Oil, Neem Oil, Xanthan Gum, Glyceryl Stearate (and) Cetearyl Alcohol (and) Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate, Phenoxyethanol and Caprylyl Glycol and love.  Frankincense and Myrrh essential oil blend.)
Along with the PUR Whipped Hair Jelly (the ingredients: Aloe Vera Whole Leaf Gel, Ayurvedic Botanicals of Ashwagandha Herb, Amla Powder, Bhringaraj Powder, Brahmi Powder, Neem Leaf Extract; Nettle, Castor Oil, Almond Oil, Mustard Seed Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil (organic), Vanilla Essential Oil.)

OK first off I've realized that my hair just doesn't particularly like aloe Vera that much. I know naturals rave about aloe vera juice/gel but it just doesn't do it for me. MOST of Afroveda items list this as it's first ingredient. (Side-note: Shea-Amla's butter scent can be overpowering if used heavily. I believe it's the Frankincense and Myrrh. It was my least favorite scent of of the variety sample pack.) I used it to do a twist out, and after applying the Shea-Amla butter I added a little PUR whipped Jelly focusing on the ends. I used the butter a little heavy the first night, and it was a little greasy but nothing outrageous. I continued to use the combination of the two to re-twist each night using only the finger comb method. I did not use a comb at all. I did dampen my hair a little by the third day or so just to add a little moisture back into my hair.
Pro's: Moisturized well, did not leak onto my face throughout the day and make my face oily, did not make my scalp itch or flake, didn't create a lot of build up on my scalp quickly. The PUR whipped jelly smells really nice BTW. A nice vanilla like scent. Overall I'm pleased. Not blown away but pleased.
Con's: Aloe Vera makes my hair appear almost waxy to me, and it also makes it stiff a little. The scent of the butter just gets funkier after your hair starts to get dirty. Can find on foot.
Repurchase?:  TBD. Shipping cost is ridiculous in my opinion, it takes about a month or more to receive, and the worst part about it is I had to go to the freakin post office to pick it up. Not cool! Maybe if I receive a coupon via email or something.

Here are some pics:
Aloe Vera weighs my hair down. This is the 1st day when I felt it was kind of greasy, but I received compliments galore.
As the week went on my hair became fuller and bouncier. Still was receiving compliments.

Overall I really enjoyed my hair. As of today I haven't washed it yet, but today I will. Today I will do either a  Ayurvedic conditioner mixture of my own, or using the Ayurvedic Shampoo bar. I don't want to use the shampoo bar, and a mixture of my own at the same time just because these are new to my hair. Hope you enjoyed!
